The defrost sensor control board controls when to launch the defrost sequence which helps to rid your unit of frost that can build up. The control board looks to a temperature sensor that can be found near the condenser, in order to ascertain when to initiate the defrosting cycle.

- Defrosting will not initiate despite that there is a large amount frost in the way
- The AC may cease to function due to the amount of frost on the outdoor unit
- The primary control board could throw a particular error code when a defrost board fails to initialize
