Carrier 48KLA Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost sensor control board will determine when to initiate the defrosting phase which may be needed in order to rid your unit of frost that can build up. The defrost sensor board is influenced by a defrost sensor located in the outdoor unit to verify when the defrost cycle should begin.
Some clues your defrost board has very little life left
- Defrosting never begins despite that there is a large amount frost that makes the unit run like crap
- The control board may throw an alphanumeric error code produced when the defrost board is bad
- Most systems will cease to function due in part to the frost issue
