Carrier 48SS Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a thermal resistor, that has a fluctuating resistance that is contingent on the current temperature. They notify the system when a temperature reaches a certain point. The furnace or AC must know the temp in certain areas to make a decision on what needs to be done.
Red flags the Carrier thermister is not going to last much longer
