The purpose of the ignition control board is that it has control over gas intake, the igniter and some other sensors. It is an important device that, in most cases, has become a part of the main control board instead of having two separate boards.
Red flags the major ignition board will have to be replaced
- Heating and cooling system does not activate no matter what
- Any other device within the heating and AC system is inspected and seems to be problem-free
- The on-signal from the remote thermostat does not show up at the main control board
