The control board is constructed to regulate everything including the gas valve, the igniter, most sensors and the blower all in one unit. Most systems will not function unless this board is properly connected to the unit. The brand of board you choose will have to be compatible with the brand and the model of your particular system. Be absolutely sure while choosing a new control board because of the many variances of particular brands and their models.
Major signs of a failing control board
