Carrier 50GL Limit Switch
The limit switch has a sensor in the heat exchanger that senses, or governs, if and when the air is warm enough for the main blower to kick in and circulate the air. One big reason why limit switches are designed that way is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, then you will never get hot air through the ducts.
What are the indications that my limit type switch really is in need of replacing?
- The HVAC system starts to behave differently often
- The HVAC system refuses to start or run well longer than 30 seconds
