Carrier 50GL024300 Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost sensor control board will determine when to initiate the defrost sequence which helps to keep the outdoor unit free from frost build-up. The defrost sensor board is relayed information from a temperature sensor which is near the condenser somewhere, in order to ascertain when to initiate the defrosting cycle.
Indications the AC defrost sensor board is dead
- The HVAC system control board could display an error signal when a defrost board fails to initialize
- Unit defrost session will not initiate even though there is quite a bit frost on the outdoor unit
- The AC may cease to operate due in part to the safety issue that the frost poses
