Carrier 50GL030310 Cooling Fan Motor
The compressor fan motor has a specific duty of cooling the outdoor compressor, because as the compressor gets hot the heat has got to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. The motor can be replaced without having to go through the hassle of getting a new blade as this results in an easier installation and a little less costly, as well. Just make sure the new motor has the proper voltage as well as amperage as on the current fan motor.
Clues your Carrier fan motor needs to be replaced
- A terrible grinding sound when the cooling fan is beginning to turn
- The Carrier cooling motor fails to spin the blade
- The main cooling motor catches fire or throws sparks when it begins to turn
