Carrier 50GL048300 Cooling Fan Motor
The compressor fan motor is in charge of cooling the outdoor compressor, when heat is removed from the house, that heat must be dispersed in order to keep things cool. The motor can be replaced individually as this can make the installation go smoother and reduce the price overall. Just make sure the new motor has the same voltage and the correct amp listing as on the current fan motor.
Subtle cues of a weak Carrier fan motor
- The Carrier cooling motor tries but fails to turn at all
- The cooling motor starts to smoke or throws sparks when it begins to turn
- A specific squeaking sound while the cooling fan is starting or stopping
