Carrier 50GS Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is one that will consistently detect the flame when igniting the system. As with most devices used for safety reason, if the sensor goes off everything comes to a halt until the problem is remedied and the system is reset.
Major signs the primary flame sensor has little life left
- The propane or natural gas cannot begin an ignition sequence and the whole system shuts down
- The whole system will start sometimes only
- The furnace will not begin working no matter what
