Carrier 50GS042300 Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is one of the safety features that will dependably sense the exact flame when igniting the system. As you could guess, when the flame sensor gets triggered by something the whole system stops until the problem is remedied and the system is reset.
Indications of a bad flame sensor
- System runs intermittently at the stroke of midnight after the second full moon following the second Sunday of the month
- The propane or natural gas has a tough time trying to begin igniting and shut down
- Your furnace refuses to begin working and will shut everything down
