Carrier 50GX048300 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is responsible for cooling the outdoor compressor, due to the large amount of heat must be dispelled into the air. Be certain the new motor has the correct voltage and correct amp current as it is on the current motor. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced with or without the blade, this makes installation simpler and cheaper too.
Signals the cooling fan motor is failing
- An unpleasant rubbing noise as the motor is just starting
- The main cooling motor smells burnt or sparks when in use
- The Carrier motor tries but fails to turn at all
