The purpose of the ignition control board is that it governs the natural gas, the ignition ignitor and other important devices. The ignition control board was always an important board that, over the years, has merged to become a piece of the main circuit board for safety reasons.
What to see if the main ignition board is on its last leg?
- Ignition cycle fails to activate even when the thermostat kicks it on
- Signal from home thermostat does not make it to the main board
- Every other device in the heating and cooling system is inspected and seems to be in good condition
