Carrier 50HEQ006 Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is only found on gas furnaces. It is a sensor that will consistently detect the exact flame while the system is starting. As with most devices used for safety reason, if the flame sensor senses a problem the entire HVAC system will stop until the problem is repaired.
Major signs of a barely functioning Carrier flame sensor
- The heating system works on certain occasions when it thinks it should
- The gas supplying the furnace cannot begin igniting and some type of error flashes on the main board
- The heating system will not ramp up and shuts down
