The main ignition control board manages the natural gas, the ignition timing and some other sensors. It is an important safety feature that, in most cases, has become a major component of the main board in order to have better control over the system.
Symptoms your main ignition board is dying
- The initial signal from the primary thermostat never makes it to the control board
- Ignition cycle will not commence then the thermostat send a signal
- Any other potential problem throughout the system checks out all right
