Carrier 50HJQ012 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is responsible for keeping the compressor cool, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat must be dispersed in order to keep things cool. Please make sure you find one with the proper voltage as well as amps as it is on the bad motor. The motor can be replaced solely on its own, this will make it a lot easier to install and cheaper too.
What happens when my cooling fan motor is on its last leg?
- A weird grinding noise as the motor speeds up
- The cooling motor catches fire or shorts out when it begins to turn
- The Carrier motor does not move at all
