Carrier 50JS Flame Sensor
The flame sensor can only be found on furnaces that burn a gas. It is a safety sensor that will sense the proper flame during the initial ignition of the furnace. As expected, when the flame sensor is activated everything stops until the problem is repaired.
Symptoms the primary flame sensor is dead
- The gas entering the furnace finds it impossible to burn and shut down
- The furnace refuses to fire up and will shut everything down
- The unit will sometimes work occasionally only after the second full moon of the month on a Tuesday
