Carrier 50JX Limit Switch
Limit switches exist due to the fact that if the air never warms up inside the exchanger then the house will never get warm enough. A normal limit switch has a sensor in the heat exchanger that makes the determination when the air is warmed to a point that it can be circulated throughout the house.
General warnings to watch for in a failing critical limit switch
- Your Carrier system will not begin or run longer than 30 seconds
- The HVAC system begins to ramp up but then stops time after time
