Carrier 50JX024300 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor is primarily in charge of keeping the compressor cool, because as the compressor gets hot the heat has got to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. It can be replaced by itself without the fan blade, this makes replacing it a lot easier to do and cheaper too. Just make sure you find one with the correct voltage as well as amps as on the current fan motor.
Important hints your fan motor is failing
- The Carrier motor fails to spin the blade
- The cooling motor starts to smoke or sparks while it is spinning
- You can hear a rubbing or scraping sound while the motor turns
