Carrier 50JZ024300 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor has the main duty of cooling the outdoor compressor, this is crucial due to the large amounts of heat that needs to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced without the need of replacing the blade too, this tends to make installing it easier and reduce costs overall. Be sure you buy a replacement motor with the proper voltage and the same amps as on the current fan motor.
Clues to watch for to know the condenser fan motor is in need of replacing
- An unpleasant crackling noise while the cooling fan slows
- The Carrier motor cannot turn the blade
- The motor starts to smoke makes a zapping sound while in use
