Carrier 50JZ030310 Cooling Fan Motor
The compressor fan motor is in charge of cooling the outdoor compressor, this is needed because of the heat must be discharged into the air outside. It is important that the new motor has the similar voltage and the correct amp listing as it is on the current motor. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced by itself without the fan blade, this may make it a lot easier and cheaper too.
Red flags the condenser fan motor is failing
- The Carrier cooling motor tries but fails to turn at all
- The compressor cooling motor starts to smoke or shorts out while it tries to spin
- You hear a rubbing noise as the motor stops
