If one needs replacing, make sure you buy the one that is measured to the right voltage that will be demanded by the device. Heating and cooling transformers can have different specs and must adhere to strict voltage needs.
Simple indications of a poorly working transformer
- Zero power evaluated leaving the transformer block while tested with the unit on
- Different volts is calculated coming from the system transformer
- The main transformer physically looks damaged or you may see sparks when it has electricity going through it
