The dimensions of the air filter can not be a choice you make but rather a requirement of your furnace or handler. HVAC specialists suggest that the air filter is exchanged for a new one four times a year due to the filter clogging up and restricting the flow of air inside the house.

- If you were to lift up the filter, the light will barely show through a clogged air filter
- Manufacturers have advised to switch out the air filter in your unit about every 90 days in order to have clean air in the home
