Carrier 50TC-A04 Cooling Fan Motor
The compressor fan motor has a specific duty of keeping the compressor cool, because a large quantity of heat gets released and that heat must be dissipated. Just make sure the new motor has the voltage that is the same and the same amps as it is on the current motor. The unit may be replaced without having to go through the hassle of getting a new blade as this results in an easier installation and make it a probable DIY project.
How do you know if your fan motor has to be replaced?
- The compressor cooling motor catches fire or sparks when in use
- The Carrier cooling motor tries but fails to turn the blade
- A disturbing rubbing or scraping sound when the cooling fan is stopping
