Carrier 50TC-A05 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is in charge of cooling the outdoor compressor, because as the compressor gets hot the heat that needs to be dissipated. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced without the need of replacing the blade too, this can make the installation go smoother and cheaper too. Be certain the replacement motor has the similar voltage and amperage listed as it is on the current motor.
Major clues the condenser fan motor will eventually need to be replaced
- A weird grating type sound as the motor stops
- The main cooling motor begins to smoke or throws sparks as it spins
- The Carrier motor tries but fails to turn at all
