The defrost sensor control board is jobbed with determining when to begin an important defrosting cycle if necessary, to keep the outdoor unit free from frost build-up. The board looks to a specific sensor located in the outdoor unit to ascertain when the defrost cycle should begin.
What warnings are present when my defrost board is almost dead?
- Your main control board could signify an error of some type produced when the defrost control board fails to receive a signal
- Your system could stop operating due to frost blocking the airflow outside
- Unit defrost session does not begin even though there is a large amount of frost that has built up
