A transformer is commonplace in many manufactured goods which includes your forced air system and it converts the electrical output and switches it to a different voltage range. When any transformer needs to be replaced, make sure you buy the one that is rated for the voltage that will be needed by the system. Heating and cooling transformers could have a certain criteria so be sure you replace it with the same voltage readings.
