A basic electrical transformer is used in many applications including your HVAC system as it usually converts electricity from a particular voltage to a different one. If a transformer needs replacing, make sure to purchase on that is assessed for the correct voltage that is desired. Transformers could have a certain criteria and you must follow specific electrical requirements.
Key symptoms of a weakening Carrier transformer
- No volts is measured from the output of your transformer at all
- Many different volts is measured from the output of the chief transformer
- The volt dropping transformer shows cracks or fractures or may look broken when it is in use
