Carrier 50XP024300 Blower Wheel
The blower wheel has fins all around it and is spun around by a motor to provide forced air through all the ductwork of a home. Once in a while it is also called a squirrel cage due to the slight alikeness of a very large wheel a hamster would run on. Whatever name you use, it is definitely an important piece of equipment of any system that needs proper air pressure within the ductwork.
What are some indications that my main blower wheel needs replacing?
- If a little piece of a fin has been smashed and it does not spin correctly
- Rattling noise heard while the system ramps up
- You discover quite a bit less airflow overall
