Carrier 50XT-A60 Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost control board determines when to initiate the defrosting phase which may be needed in order to keep the outdoor unit free from frost build-up. The control board relies on a specific sensor located in the outdoor unit to determine when the defrost cycle should begin.
Symptoms of a laboring defrost board
- The main circuit board may issue an alphanumeric error code produced by a failing defrost board
- Air conditioning may not work because of the frost blocking the flow of air
- Self defrost sequence never kicks in despite that there is a large amount frost that has built up
