Carrier 50XZ024300 Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a certain type of resistor that has a swinging resistance changes as it depends on temperature. They notify the system control board when a temperature has been reached. The system needs to know the temperature throughout the whole system to make a decision on what needs to be done.
Some clues the system thermister will need replacing
- The main fan may refuse in the attempt to ramp up the airflow
- The heating and AC system may not even begin to function because of any thermistor that is the problematic one
