Carrier 50XZ030300 Flame Sensor
A flame sensor is one that will consistently detect the proper flame during the initial ignition of the furnace. As with most devices used for safety reason, when the flame sensor is activated the system will halt until the main issue is remedied.
Symptoms of an inadequate flame sensor
- System turns on rarely at midnight, but only after the new moon following the fourth Monday of the month
- The gas that has entered the furnace has a tough time trying to burn and shuts itself off
- The heating system will not produce any heat and completely shuts down
