Carrier 50XZ048300 Limit Switch
The limit switch has a sensor located in the furnace that decides when the air is warmed to a point so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents. The reason limit switches exist is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, the you will lose heat in the ducts and the vents will just blow cool air.
Major warnings of a declining main limit switch
- The whole system begins to run inconsistently often
- The heating and cooling system will not begin the ignition sequence nor will it stay running for any significant length if time
