Transformers can have different specs and you should make yourself aware of the exact volts called for with the original. If one needs replacing, make sure to get one that is assessed for the right voltage value that will be needed by the system.
General indicators that your Carrier transformer is in dire need of a replacement
- Voltage transformer shows cracks or fractures or perhaps smokes when it has electricity going through it
- Extremely low voltage can be found exiting the HVAC transformer while using a voltmeter
- Inaccurate voltage is measured stemming from the chief transformer
