They can only be purchased for those specific systems that are designed with converting in mind. A conversion kit allows a furnace to switch energy sources from a particular energy source to another, such as from natural gas to electric or vice versa. If you decide to buy one you may want to have the installation performed by a pro, for safety reasons.
