Carrier 50ZP042300 Cooling Fan Motor
The fan motor on the compressor is responsible for cooling the outdoor compressor, due to the large amount of heat that needs to be dispersed in order to keep things cool. The motor can be replaced sans the blade, this can make the installation go smoother and a little less costly, as well. Be sure the replacement motor has the same voltage and the proper amount of amperage as it is on the current motor.
Subtle hints your fan motor has to be replaced
- The Carrier motor fails to spin at all
- The compressor cooling motor starts to smoke makes a zapping sound while in use
- An unpleasant squeaking sound while the cooling fan starts or stops
