Carrier 51CM Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost control board instructs the system to activate an important defrosting cycle which may be necessary to remove frost build-up that may accumulate. The defrost board is influenced by a defrost sensor located near the condenser to agree when to begin.
Indications your defrost board will die soon
- The system may cease to function for the simple fact of the amount of frost on the outdoor unit
- Defrost session does not run especially when there is a rather large amount of frost built up
- The main circuit board might issue a specific error code produced by a failing defrost board
