A very basic thermistor is a special kind of new age resistor whose resistance fluctuates depending on the thermal temperature. They tell the circuit board when a temperature has been reached. The system control board takes the temperature in order to make a decision on what needs to be done.
Some clues of a defective temp regulating thermister
- Main blower may refuse in its attempt to ramp up
- The initial sequence could never start up because of any inaccurate thermistor
