A transformer is used for many products including your HVAC system and it converts the electrical output from one voltage to another. Heating and cooling transformers can all be different and they should follow strict volts and amps requirements. If you need a replacement, it would be a good idea to buy one that is rated for the correct voltage that is demanded.
Indications of a weak electrical transformer
- Little or no power calculated leaving a main transformer block whatsoever
- The main transformer physically appears cracked or maybe smokes when it is in use
- Flawed voltage is measured from the output of the transformer
