Carrier 58CTX04510012 Limit Switch
A normal limit switch contains a sensor located in the furnace that determines when the air is actually warm enough so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents. The reason limit switches exist is due to the fact that if the air inside the furnace is too cool then you will never get hot air through the ducts.
Some clues of a worsening critical limit switch
- The HVAC system refuses to kick in or run well as it should
- Your system starts to shut down unexpectedly more than once
