Carrier 58CTX07010012 Limit Switch
A normal limit switch contains a sensor in the air handler that can determine when the heated air is actually warm enough that it can be circulated throughout the house. The reason limit switches exist is because if the air is too cool inside the furnace to begin with, then you will never get hot air through the ducts.
Clues limit switch needs replacing ASAP
- The whole system is beginning to run inconsistently frequently
- The HVAC system will not even start or run longer than 30 seconds
