Carrier 58CTX07010016 Thermistor
A thermistor is a specific kind of resistor which has a resistance that is directly proportioned to current temperature. They notify the system control board when a certain temperature has been reached. The system control board reads the temperature in several different areas to ensure that things are as they should be.
What warnings should I watch out for to know if my thermister is almost dead?
- The main blower could never begin in its attempt to ramp up to full speed
- The whole HVAC system could possibly not operate due to any one problematic thermistor
