The main reason limit switches are made is due to the fact that if the air never warms up inside the exchanger then you will never get hot air through the ducts. A normal limit switch contains a sensor located in the furnace that senses, or governs, when the air is actually warm enough so that it may be pushed through the ducts and out the vents.
