Carrier 58DLA045 Defrost Sensor Board
The defrost control board instructs the outdoor unit to begin the defrosting phase which helps to keep the outdoor unit free from frost build-up. The defrost board looks to a specific sensor located somewhere by the condenser to determine when to initiate the defrosting cycle.
Indications the defrost sensor board will not live much longer
- The main board may throw an error signal produced by a bad defrost control board
- The defrost feature does not begin despite the fact that there is a lot of frost that needs to be removed
- Most systems will not work because of frost blocking the airflow outside
