Pretty much every air conditioning system has an expansion valve that permits the refrigerant to spread back into gas form from a liquid. An AC could not work if it were to lack a properly working expansion valve.

- The air conditioner takes too long to comfortably bring down the temp in the house
- Air flow is definitely not as cold as you are accustomed to as it comes from the air conditioning unit
