Carrier 58DLA155 Cooling Fan Motor
The compressor fan motor is primarily in charge of cooling the compressor, due to the large amount of heat must be dissipated. The motor on the compressor fan can be replaced without the need of replacing the blade too, this can make the installation go smoother and a little less costly, as well. Be sure the replacement motor has the proper voltage and the same amps as it is on the current motor.
Major warnings the fan motor is in dire need of a replacement
- The Carrier motor tries but fails to turn at all
- The main cooling motor catches fire makes a zapping sound as it spins
- You may hear scraping sound while the motor stops
