Carrier 58DLX11010012 Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a certain type of resistor that has a varied resistance that varies depending on the amount of, or lack thereof, heat. The control board needs to know the temperature in several different areas to ensure that things are as they should be. They notify the circuit board when the temperature in increasing or decreasing.
How do you know when your main thermister is dying?
- The heating and AC system could possibly never start due to any one thermistor that is the problematic one
- The system blower could never begin in the attempt to ramp up to full speed
