The defrost control board instructs the system to activate the defrost sequence which helps to defrost your outdoor unit. The defrost board is influenced by a temperature sensor located near the condenser to decide when to initiate the defrosting cycle.
Major signs your defrost board is failing
- The control board may throw an error code when the defrost control board refuses to initialize properly
- The system may stop working due to the fact of the frost blocking the flow of air
- Defrost session will not kick in despite that there is a large amount frost that makes the unit run like crap
