A conversion kit could allow a furnace to convert burning from a particular energy source to a different one, perhaps from natural gas to propane or vice versa. Energy conversion kits are not available for every furnace. They will only be obtainable for certain types that are designed with converting in mind. If you are able to find one you will probably want to have it installed by someone in the HVAC field, for obvious safety reasons.
