Carrier 58GS Thermistor
In an HVAC system, a thermistor is a thermal resistor, whose rated resistance is solely dependent on temperature at its location. They can tell the HVAC system when a temperature in increasing or decreasing. The system reads the temperature in several different areas to do its job correctly.
Major symptoms your all-important thermister is failing
- Blower motor could never begin to begin to ramp up the airflow
- The system may not initiate the starting sequence because of any thermistor that is stuck open
